Today
Today we are going into Washington, D.C. and hope to go to the Lincoln Memorial. President Lincoln is my favorite President! I hope to learn more about him and who he was. I hope to post pictures later tonight. We are also going to the crime and punishment museum. That should be interesting as well. I hope everyone is having a restful Thanksgiving break.

Tool 11
1. My favorite so far is Edmodo. My students and I use this website every day. I love to get their feed back and reflections of previously taught material. My students are also jumping in with Story Jumper.
2. My thinking has completly been trasformed. Edmodo has allowed me to check for understanding in ways I never thought possible. My students using google docs allows my students to get previously made material at any given moment to improve upon. Other websites have allowed me to help my students improve on their work.
3. All of my students have embraced the technology we are using and are very excited to see where the year is going to take them. Whether it is one of my students who thought they knew what the school had to offer to my students who shyed away from technology all together can't wait to get on and use it.

Tool 10
1. Students need to realize that they can make their internet experience a positive one or a negative one. I hope they realize the good that can come from being a responsible citizen. I would empower them to do great things on the internet, while keeping them safe from bad sites and people. The power of collaboration, with other students of the world that they might not other wise see.
2. I could use Atomic learning or possibly Brainpop to help them how to be a responsible student in the physical world, that would then transfer to the cyber world.
3. I would list what they already know about being a good citizen at school and in their physical world. I would then see how many of those characteristics could transfer over to the cyber world.
4. Well I would prefer to do it in person, but if I couldn't I could mention it through Edmodo or a

Tool 9
1. Technology has to be relevant to the students. If their is no purpose for the students to use it, they will not be engaged as much.
2. It is not a toy! Many students use computers, ipads, itouches for games and not for educational purposes.
3. PhET can be used like a scavenger hunt on line. I have used paper scavenger hunts in science, students using their journals and their textbook. I think this is much more practical and can be easily used with ipads and itouches. What is great about it, is they have to watch it first, then they can answer the scavenger hunt question. Snappy words looks like fun as well. My students like to play Quiddler and they need to have a vast vocabulary in order to play the game.
4. I have found flashcards, it can be used by students when waiting to do something, like after they have used the restroom. Brainpop app to watch videos relating to a topic they are studying. Science360 allows students to investigate science topics. Moon helps student see the different characteristics of the moon and its position.
5. Ipads are great for presentation tools and with cameras are a great way to utilize videos and skype.

Tool 8
Well I have used net books at school, the students like using them, although they have difficulty using the keyboard correctly. They tend to use their index fingers solely. My students have already used ipads to present their books they have make in google docs to other classes in our school.
Tool 7
I am planning a video conference with PreK from the museum of Natural Science. Mrs. Robles and I are going to discuss a mutual topic that both of our classrooms can do together.
Tool 6
Edmodo is a great tool to check for understanding in both areas that I teach: Language Arts and Science. I give my students simple question that they can answer and they love it. Creating badges and awarding students for their accomplishments is so fun.
I have logged on to a skype account and we plan to use it on our study trip with PreK this Friday. We are going to the Museum of Natural Science in Sugar Land. We plan to skype while we are there. We will see if it works.

A stroll in the forest
A stroll in the forest
As part of tool 5 I created this animoto. I found it difficult to maneuver, if it wasn't for my personal photos I am not sure where I would have gotten the pictures for my presentation. I have also created a story jumper account for my class. They will begin to create their own books utilizing Story Jumper and as their work is completed I will post some of their works.

Tool 4
Sharing my students works helps the rest of my team see what we are doing in class. We had a blast making these poems and it was so easy for them to share them with me instead of printing them out and reading them individually.
