Garrett: Born in Tripoli, Lybia; grew up in Bogota, Colombia; moved to Houston in 1982; went to Westchester Middle School; one year at Westchester High School; graduated with Spanish honors at Stratford High School in 1988. Graduated from Sam Houston State University with a B.S. in Kinesiology/Education and a concentration in Spanish. I have taught 3rd, 4th and 5th grades in Conroe ISD, Houston ISD and Spring Branch ISD. I have been teacher of the year at Hollibrook Elementary and at Cedar Brook Elementary.
